Following our annual visit to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival with the Erickson’s, we headed out for the annual cottage week. And what a week it was! With 51 unique visitors (and boy, are they unique), we certainly had record traffic!
And, after that, instead of coming home, we went East and boated Canandaigua, Cayuga and Skaneateles. Next we headed up into the Adirondacks while Brian, Peggy and Elaine showed us Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain and Lower and Middle Saranac Lakes. Then we were on to the ferry to my old home town of Burlington, VT. What a treat finding the island and beach we used to go to when I was a kid on Mallett’s Bay in Lake Champlain. Next we spent some time at Kaiya and Chris’ place – what an adorable family and a beautiful spot. I felt right at home. Next we headed to Providence to see George, Pam, Jes, Ethan, Julie, Nate, Phoebe and Erik. Major fun swimming in the stormy sea with Phoebe and eating Pam’s cooking. Our next stop was Cliff and Anita King’s place on Little Squam Lake – what a gorgeous spot! As we headed back we stopped by Glimmerglass Opera House to see nephew George doing his lighting and sound thing – an amazing place to spend the summer – and then stopped by Pete’s on the way home. We had a fantastic trip thanks to all the wonderful friends and family we visited and stayed with plus, we added 6 new lakes to our boating list!
