Sarasota – our southern city

We closed on the house at 2350 Hyde Park Street on January 13th and stayed through Mid-April. While here we spent a lot of time at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Siesta Key Beach. The Sarasota YMCA and the little collection of stores, bars and restaurants called Southside Village. We had a bumper crop of oranges, grapefruits and tangerines in our yard and were glad we had settled in the Arlington Park neighborhood. Guests included Debbie Watson, Anna Chitty, Patience Thomas, John and Ginger Gajar, Rita, Shel and Molly Stark, Molly’s sons, Louie and Asa and Rita’s sister Joan, Meg, Tom and David Minich, John, Brian and Kristin Hart, Beth Clarke and Pat Legros, Phoebe Cruze, John and Monica Bebow and Scott and Janet Erickson. Needless to say, it was fantastic getting such a fine guest list together on relatively short notice! We are hoping for even more this year.

As you all know, I had  retired from MLive.com on 12/31/11 but was happily back at work by 1/23/12. I work part time, but I can keep my hand in at Advance and I find it rewarding and fun – glad to contribute.
