And what a great one it’s been! After our annual trip to Stratford with Scott and Janet over the 4th of July, we made the trek to Conesus Lake – the 16th out of the last 17 years. As usual, we had a great turnout and a wonderful week. After we left, we went down to Corning to visit the glass museum and to check out some ancestry leads. Who do we run into in the cemetery but Pete Hart? We found the graves of several relatives and persuaded Pete to come with us the following day to boat Seneca Lake and hike Watkins Glen – what a treat! On the way home, we stopped by Van Buren Point on Lake Erie to see Peggy Stubbs. We had a great weekend up north with Mark and Marty and celebrated John and Monica’s twenty-first anniversary on Walloon Lake. We visited Ron and Mary in South Haven and hosted Kristin and Kevin for the Notre Dame game. Kevin spent much of the summer on the golf course and made the finals in the MacKenzie-Dye, a U of M tournament. We also had some quality time with friends in Ann Arbor, whether at the “Y”, hanging out at Mud Lake with John and Ginger, swimming at Pickerel with Rita or dining with the Ericksons, Bebows and Dershimer-Parizeks. Love those dog days in Michigan!
